Various possible career ways after a PhD degree was presented and discussed from different perspectives. An advice to the doctoral candidates wanting more focus on career options was to create organisations at institutions, involve the appropriate institutional level, and then initiate seminars about the topic. SiN can also contribute to the organisation of such seminars, just contact the board. However, the challenge should not be met by the doctoral candidates alone. The institutions themselves should also focus on visualising and improving career options of doctoral candidates.
The seminar was supported by the University of Bergen and The Norwegian Association of Researchers – NAR.
Presentations from the seminar (in Norwegian only) can be found here.
