Before the annual meeting of SiN, a one day seminar was arranged in Oslo 28. May: "Norsk doktorgradsutdanning fram mot 2020". About 60 persons attended the seminar, both doctoral candidates as well as staff working with doctoral education in Norway. In addition to SiN, both labor unions, the Norwegian Association of Higher Education Institutions, the Ministry of Education and Research, UiO, NIFU-STEP og NOKUT gave presentations on the seminar's topic.
