EUA (European University Association) has published recommendations for doctoral education in Europe. The socalled "Salzburg II" recommendations provides a set of principles for how succesful doctoral education can be achieved. EUA stresses how the content of the doctorate clearly separates it from the first and second cycle of the Bologna process.
